WAXAHACHIE, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University women’s basketball team (15-14, 13-7 RRAC) wrapped up the regular season by taking a 69-53 win at Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Monday.

The Lady Rams took their third consecutive win to build a little momentum entering the RRAC Tournament later this week.  The Rams also got a feel for SAGU’s Full Life Center, which will host the conference tournament.

In the first half, the Lady Rams led by as many as ten (30-20) on their way to a 32-25 lead at halftime.

Texas Wesleyan remained in control throughout the second half, opening a 19-point lead (46-29) after starting the second half on a 14-6 run.  That lead remained in double-digits for the remainder of the half as Texas Wesleyan cruised to the 69-53 win.

For the game, the Lady Rams shot 41% while holding the Lions to just 38% from the floor.

Shawndrika Courtney turned in her ninth double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds.  Britney Helton added 14 points and Pilar Pinkus scored 11, while Tiffany Hill dished out 10 assists.

With the win, Texas Wesleyan secured the 4th seed in the upcoming RRAC Tournament.  They will meet 5th seeded Bacone College in first round action on Thursday.  That game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
