CLAREMORE, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (6-6) pounded out 32 hits and ran its current winning streak to sixth consecutive games with a doubleheader sweep of Rogers State University on Sunday. The Lady Rams took game one 8-6 and game two 9-5.
Marie Stone (1-3) took the win in game one, scattering four hits across four shutout innings while striking out six.
Stone also went 2-4 with 3 RBI and a home run at the plate. Alicia Wiley went 3-4, and Ariel Raley added two hits and an RBI.
In game two, Rachel Lamont (1-1) received the win after working five innings and allowing five runs on five hits and four walks.
Alicia Wylie wrapped up an outstanding day by going 3-5 with two runs and an RBI in game two. Marie Stone recorded six hits on the day as well after going 4-5 in the nightcap.
The Lady Rams return to the field on Tuesday, March 7, when they host Culver-Stockton University at Sycamore Park. Game one of that doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
