LADY RAMS WIN AGAIN

SHAWNEE, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (9-6) took its ninth consecutive win Friday morning.  The Lady Rams knocked off Peru State College (5-9) 9-4 in the Oklahoma Baptist Classic, and move on to play Southwestern College at 1:00 p.m.

The Rams plated two runs in the first on a home run from Marie Stone and an RBI single by Brooke McNabb.  They added an unearned run in the second and scored three runs on five hits including a bases-clearing double from Rachel Hampton in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead.

That lead swelled to 9-0 after an RBI single from Lindsey Molinar in the fifth and a two-run single from McNabb in the sixth.  Peru answered with three runs on three hits and an error in the sixth and a lone run in the seventh before falling 9-4.

Michelle Jones (3-0) earned the win by tossing six innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out eight.  Ariel Raley, Stone, and McNabb each recorded three hits.  McNabb and Hampton added three RBI.
