SHAWNEE, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (10-6) took its 10th consecutive win, and second of the day, as they pounded out 19 hits in a 14-3 victory over Southwestern College at the Oklahoma Baptist Classic on Friday.
Alicia Wylie got the Rams on the board when she led off with a single in the first and later scored on a wild pitch. Tara Sharp then gave the Rams a 2-1 lead with a solo-homer.
In the third inning, Texas Wesleyan broke the game wide open. The Rams scored seven runs on nine hits including a two-run homer from Sharp, RBI-singles from Lindsey Molinar and Wylie, and a two-run triple from Ariel Raley.
The Rams scored five more in the fourth. That rally was highlighted by a two-run double from Raley. From there, the Rams cruised to the 14-3 win in five innings.
Rachel Lamont (2-1) earned the win by pitching all five innings and allowing three runs on five hits while striking out six. Wylie went 4-4 with three runs and an RBI. Stone, Sharp, and Molinar each recorded three hits. Sharp and Raley each had four RBI.
