EDMOND, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team, ranked 3rd nationally, sits in fourth place after two rounds at the Sleep Inn & Suites Classic at River Oaks Golf Course in Edmond, OK.
The host team, Oklahoma Christian University, is leading the pack with a combined 568. Southern Nazarene’s Josh Erk leads all individuals at 137.
Wesleyan has carded a 296 and 304 for a total of 600. Ryan Stephens is tied for 6th with a 144. Lance Vasquez and Justin Smith are tied for 22nd at 152. Kevin Doskocil is tied for 27th at 154, while Dan Hahn carded a 155 and sits in a tie for 30th.
“We have a very talented team,” said head coach Kevin Millikan, “but the production just is not there right now. We have got to approach things differently, and tomorrow we have an opportunity to improve and make a run.”
The Rams will compete in the third and final round of the tournament tomorrow. That will be their final tune up before competing in the Region VI Championship, April 17-18.
