RAMS TAKE FOURTH

EDMOND, OK:  The Texas Wesleyan University men’s golf team finished fourth in the Sleep Inn and Suites Classic at River Oaks Golf Course in Edmond, OK.

Oklahoma Christian University, which held a 17-shot lead over second place Southern Nazarene after two round on Monday, got even better on Tuesday.  In their final round they shot a tournament low 279 to win with a final card of 847.  The Eagle’s Bruno Buccolo was also the individual medallist with a score of 210 including a tournament low 67 in the final round.

The Rams finished fourth with a card of 893 after shooting their best round (293) on Tuesday.  Ryan Stephens led the Rams, finishing 12th with a score of 221.  Lance Vasquez finished 13th (222), Justin Smith and Kevin Doskocil tied for 18th (226), and Dan Hahn tied for 32nd (232).

Head coach Kevin Millikan was disappointed with the team’s performance, “We certainly need to change some things.”  He added, “the pieces are there, but we have to get it together before the regional.”

The Rams have finished regular season competition and will next compete in the Region VI Championship, April 17-18.
