HOUSTON, TX: In the latest NAIA rankings, the Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team was ranked #1 in Region VI and 13th in the nation (up from 17th last week). This weekend the Lady Rams showed why.
The Lady Rams rolled through three RRAC matches in the RRAC Crossover Tournament hosted by Houston Baptist University. Texas Wesleyan defeated Texas College, Wiley, and Jarvis each in the minimum three games.
The most points allowed in any game was 13 in game two against Wiley, and in four of twelve games, the Rams held their opponents to single digits. The Rams won with scores of 30-10, 30-10, and 30-4 against Texas College, 30-11, 30-13, and 30-9 against Wiley, and 30-10, 30-6, and 30-2 against Jarvis.
With the three wins, Texas Wesleyan improved to 11-3 overall and 6-0 in RRAC competition. In addition their impressive consecutive-game winning streak now stands at 30.
Next week, the Rams travel to Dallas, TX, to face Paul Quinn in another RRAC match at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They will return home when they host Wayland Baptist on Friday and UT-Brownsville on Saturday in the Sid Richardson Center. Those matches are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. respectively. |
