EDMOND, OK: The Oklahoma Christian University men’s soccer team (4-7-1) used three goals from Brady Nikkel to defeat Texas Wesleyan University (6-4) by a score of 4-0 on Saturday.

In a very physical contest that featured seven yellow cards between the two teams, the Eagles led 1-0 at halftime on the strength of Nikkel’s first goal.  Nikkel would continue to frustrate the Rams’ defense with two more goals in the second half.  Adam Barnes also scored for Oklahoma Christian for the 4-0 final.

“We were not there mentally,” said Head Coach Steve Jones.  “We allowed them space to knock the ball around.  Now we have got to learn from this game, but not let our heads sink because we have a big game next week.”

The Rams will return to the field on Wednesday, when they travel to Cedar Hill, TX, to take on RRAC rival Northwood.  The Rams will be putting their 4-0 mark in conference play on the line.  That match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. and will be preceded by a women’s game.
