FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (12-4, 5-1 RRAC) closed out a very successful regular season on a high note on Saturday.  They Lady Rams defeated UT-Permian Basin (3-10, 0-5) 6-0 in the season finale.

The 2005 Lady Rams have set school records for wins with 12 and shutouts with 6.  They also put together a school record five-game winning streak dating from September 24 – October 8.

On Saturday, the Rams honored four outstanding seniors.  Jessica Carrion, Crystal Carrizales, Nicole Richardson, and Leslie Tabor each played in their final regular season home game.  Texas Wesleyan dominated from the start.  They controlled the ball throughout the game and every player in the starting lineup took at least one shot.

Loren Clark got things started with an assist from Carrion with 31:19 to play in the first half.  Six minutes later, a pair of seniors hooked up for another score when Richardson found Carrion open in front of the net.  Danielle Parks closed out the half with her first of two goals on the day with 15:11 remaining.

In the second half, Brianna McKernon found the net just 1:46 in.  Audra Fulton and Parks each scored to cap the scoring at 6-0.

Carrion finished with 3 points on a goal and two assists.  She now has a Texas Wesleyan record 73 goals, and 162 points.  Parks, a freshman, recorded her first multi-goal game.

With the win, Texas Wesleyan assured themselves of at least 2nd place in the conference standings and a spot in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament, which is scheduled to begin on November 4, in Laredo, TX.
