ODESSA, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (23-3, 15-0 RRAC) won their 22nd consecutive match with a convincing 3-0 win over 25th ranked Texas A&M International at the Red River Athletic Conference Crossover Tournament on Saturday.
The Rams took the match with scores of 30-19, 30-13, and 30-17. With the 3-0 win, the Rams closed within two matches of tying the school record for consecutive match wins, which stands at 24 (2004).
Rachel Loftin, Misty Tarbet, and Bela Gaulberto led the Lady Rams at the net with 12, 9, and 7 kills respectively. Loftin also had 7 blocks while Gaulberto and Whitney Johansen added 3 apiece. Johansen also recorded 33 assists, while Susan Taylor had 18 digs.
The 12th ranked Rams return to the court on Tuesday, November 1, when they host Southern Nazarene and Southwestern Assemblies of God. Those matches are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center. |
