LITTLE ROCK, AR:  The Texas Wesleyan University women’s basketball team (0-1) suffered a 74-66 loss at Arkansas Baptist College on Monday.

The game was the first of 29 games on the docket for the Lady Rams this season.  Head Coach Stacy Francis was disappointed with the loss, but was hopeful for the future.  “They just outplayed us tonight.  We did not execute on the little things, but this was only the first game, and I hope this opens some eyes on our team. 

“There were some bright spots,” Francis continued.  “MJ (Mauri Johnson) stepped up and played a great game for us.”  Johnson is a freshman guard from Fort Worth (Polytechnic HS).  “We will work harder and get better.”

The Lady Rams return to the hardwood this weekend.  They will host the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in their home opener on Friday (5:00 p.m.).  On Saturday they will host UT-Tyler.  That game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Sid Richardson Center.
