WACO, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Nicole Richardson led the Lady Rams to their first conference title and was named RRAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week last week.
Richardson, a senior defender from Mansfield, Texas, was the difference for the Lady Rams in their playoff matches. In the semifinals against Northwood University (Texas), Richardson accounted for the only goal of the match with a score on a penalty kick in the 78th minute for a 1-0 win. On Saturday, she scored the first two goals of the championship match in the fifth and 22nd minutes en route to a 5-1 Texas Wesleyan victory over Texas A&M International University. The Lady Rams finished the year at 14-5, setting numerous team records, after losing in the NAIA Region VI Semifinals against Oklahoma Baptist University, 2-1, on Tuesday. |
