FORT WORTH, TX: For the third time this season and second consecutive week, Texas Wesleyan’s Ben Hunt was named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Hunt shared the honor with Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s Julio Osorio.
For the second straight game, Hunt, a senior guard from Bendigo, Australia, was held scoreless in the firs half, but led the Rams to victory with over 20 points in the second half. He connected on 8-of-13 shots including 5-of-7 from three-point range to defeat the NAIA’s third-ranked team, LSU-Shreveport, 93-72. Hunt finished the game with 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Texas Wesleyan is 1-1 in the RRAC and 4-4 this year.
The Rams return to action on December 30, when they travel to Edmond, OK, to take on 5th ranked Oklahoma Christian University. That game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
