FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s CJ Higginbotham was named Red River Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the period of February 19-25. Higginbotham shared the award with Hector Garza of Wiley College.
Higginbotham, a senior guard from Little Elm, Texas, connected on 17-of-21 (81%) shots from three-point range for the Rams. He sank seven three-pointers in two games, going 7-for-11 in a 106-93 overtime loss to conference front-runner Jarvis Christian College (Texas) and notching a perfect 7-for-7 with a career-high 34 points in a 113-78 win over Bacone College (Okla.).
