FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Jason Diaz has been selected as Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the period of February 26-March 4.

Diaz, a senior third baseman from Fort Worth, TX, led the Rams to a 4-0 week with doubleheader sweeps of Wayland Baptist and Southwestern.  Diaz hit a team-best .583 (7-12) and led the team with 4 RBI on the week.  He went 3-for-4 in game two against Wayland Baptist.  In game one against Southwestern his two-out single knocked in the tying run in the fourth inning.  In game two against Southwestern his two-out bases loaded single knocked in two and gave the Rams a comfortable 7-0 lead in the second. On the season, Diaz is hitting a team-best .476 (20-42) while leading the Rams to an outstanding 11-2 start.
