HICKS NAMED RRAC P.O.W.

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Billie Hicks has been selected as Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the period of April 2-8.  Hicks shared the award with Travis Bernard of Bacone College.

Hicks, a senior shortstop from Arlington, TX, racked up seven hits (7-for-12) and four RBI in three games for Texas Wesleyan as the Rams remain unbeaten in conference play.  In a 7-5 win at McMurry University (TX), he went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and he was 4-for-4 with three RBI in a 10-2 win at conference foe Northwood University (TX). After completeing a three-game series sweep of Northwood on Monday, the Rams, ranked eighth in the NAIA, are 9-0 in the RRAC and 27-5 overall.

For the week, Bernard was 8-of-16 hitting with four runs, two RBI, two doubles and four stolen bases. Bacone is now 8-0 in the RRAC and 27-16 on the season.
