JONES NAMED RRAC AND REGION VI P.O.W.

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Michelle Jones has been named Red River Athletic Conference and Region VI Softball Pitcher of the Week for her no-hit performance on Senior Day last weekend.

Jones, a senior pitcher from Arlington, TX, was unhittable during a 7-0 victory over College of the Southwest (NM) on Friday.  She recorded two strikeouts and allowed a pair of walks in seven innings of work.  Jones faced just 23 batters, getting eight fly ball outs and 10 ground ball outs while her defense helped out with one double-play.

After sweeping a doubleheader from Texas College on Monday, the Rams are 19-28 overall and 12-10 in RRAC play.  They will play their final home game on Thursday when they host Southeastern Oklahoma State University at 2:00 p.m.
