SOUTHEASTERN SWEEPS TEXAS WESLEYAN
April 26, 2007

Box Score - Game One

Box Score - Game Two

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University Softball team (19-30) was swept in a doubleheader against Southeastern Oklahoma State University (27-25) on Thursday.  The Savage Storm took game one 11-0 and game two 3-0.

In game one, the Savage Storm used two Lady Ram errors to jump ahead early.  Meanwhile, Carly Goodnight shut down the Texas Wesleyan bats.

A Texas Wesleyan error led to two runs in the first inning for Southeastern.  Rachel Still added an RBI single in the third, and another Lady Rams miscue led to five more runs in the frame making it 8-0.

A two-out two-run homer from Leslie Boyd gave the storm a 10-run lead in the fourth.

Goodnight carried a perfect game into the fourth inning, when Brooke McNabb smashed a one-out double into left centerfield.  She got more help in the fifth when Ashley Graham hit a two-out home run.

Ashley Oldham (8-9) took the loss after allowing 11 runs, only five earned, on 12 hits in five innings of work.  Goodnight allowed just one hit while striking out five in four innings to pickup the win.

In game two, Michelle Jones held the Storm at bay until Bailey Mathes delivered an RBI double in the fourth.  A sac fly from Ashley Graham in the fifth and an RBI single from Graham in the seventh made it 3-0.

That was enough support for Jamie McAdoo who allowed five hits and struck out five in the win.

Michelle Jones (5-10) allowed three runs on six hits while striking out two in seven innings pitched.  Brooke McNabb went 2-for-3 in the loss.

The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Cedar Hill, TX, to take on Northwood University.  Game one of that doubleheader is scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m.
