FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan’s Brooke McNabb has been named Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for the period of April 23-29. McNabb shared the award with Katie Pfannerstill of Northwood University.
McNabb, a junior from Fort Worth, TX, was 10-for-20 in six games for Texas Wesleyan, including four multiple-hit games. She opened the week by leading the Lady Rams to two victories over Texas College, going 2-for-3 with a run and pair of RBI in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second, she was 2-for-5 with a two runs scored. McNabb capped the week by going 3-for-5 at the plate with a run scored in a 6-5 loss to Northwood. For the week, she scored four runs with two doubles, a walk, and a stolen base. Texas Wesleyan finished the regular season at 12-12 in the RRAC with a 19-32 mark overall.
Pfannerstill, a sophomore shortstop from Coppell, TX, also hit .500 last week, going 7-for-14, as Northwood won all four of its games.
The Lady Rams will return to action on Friday when they open play in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament. At 12-12 Texas Wesleyan will be the fifth seed in the tournament, which will be played in Farmer’s Branch, TX. |
