FARMERS BRANCH, TX:  After winning three of four games on Friday, the Texas Wesleyan University Softball team (22-34) was eliminated from the Red River Athletic Conference when Northwood University (33-15) took a semifinal match up by a score of 9-1.  With the loss the Rams placed third in the tournament.

Northwood loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the first.  Ashley Oldham induced a ground ball, but a Texas Wesleyan error allowed two runs to score.  An RBI single from Courtney Haley and a two-run single from Kayla Maddox made it 5-0 in the second.

The Lady Rams loaded the bases in the bottom of the second, but Kayla Maddox escaped with no damage done.  Three hits and a Lady Rams error led to four runs for Northwood in the fifth.

Lindsey Molinar got the Rams on the board in the bottom of the fifth.  She led off with an infield single, stole second, stole third, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Brooke McNabb.

The Knight’s Kayla Maddox entered the game with a 1.31 ERA in three regular season outings against Texas Wesleyan.  Maddox delivered more of the same for the Knights on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits in five innings of work.

Ashley Oldham (9-12) allowed seven runs, four earned, on nine hits in four innings of work.
