SHERMAN, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University volleyball team (9-5) traveled to Sherman today to take on Austin College (16-3). The Roos, currently ranked 15th in NCAA Division III topped the Rams 3-0.
Although each game was very close, the Lady Rams fell 30-24, 30-27, and 30-26 in consecutive games.
Sandra Ayala, Liz Meng, and Destiny Clemons each recorded nine kills in the loss. Ayala also led the team with 13 digs. Jennifer Irwin had 26 assists, and Brandi Hatcher contributed two aces. The defending Red River Athletic Conference Champion Lady Rams open their conference season on Friday, September 29, when they travel to Muskogee, OK, to take on Bacone College. That match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. |
