After trailing 1-0, the Lady Rams led for the remainder of game one on their way to a 30-26 win. In game two, the Rams took control with a 10-1 run that brought the score to 21-18. Austin College then rallied and the game was tied at 26, 27, 28, and 29. Texas Wesleyan fought off one game point, but eventually fell 31-29.
Games three and four featured spectacular points from both teams as both the Rams and Roos exhibited tremendous defense. Texas Wesleyan seized the momentum in game three. They used a 10-2 run to gain control at 15-6, and used a 6-1 run to close out the 30-24 win. Game four was tight at 21-18 before the Lady rams finished the 30-21 win with a 9-3 run.
The Lady Rams have one more tune-up before their season finale against conference rival Houston Baptist University. Texas Wesleyan will travel to Bethany, OK, to take on Southern Nazarene University on Tuesday, October 31. That match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. |
FORT WORTH, TX: Earlier this season, the Texas Wesleyan University Volleyball team (19-7) suffered a 3-0 defeat at Austin College (23-6). On Saturday, the Lady Rams avenged that loss by defeating the Kangaroos 3-1 in the Sid Richardson Center.
