FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Brianna McKernon has been named Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week and Tournament MVP for her performance during the Lady Rams’ conference title run.
McKernon, a sophomore forward from Mansfield, TX, led Texas Wesleyan in scoring as the Lady Rams claimed their second consecutive RRAC women’s soccer title last week. After contributing an assist in a 4-0 win over Bacone College (OK) in the conference semifinal, she booted in both of the Lady Rams’ goals in a 2-0 championship game victory over Houston Baptist University.
McKernon also chipped in the team’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to Oklahoma City University in the NAIA Region VI quarterfinal. TWU finished at 9-8 on the season with a 5-1 conference mark.
McKernon added to a growing list of accomplishments. Last season she was named 1st-team All-Conference and RRAC Newcomer of the Year. This season she was named RRAC Player of the Week twice and was once again named 1st-team All-Conference. |
