ABILENE, TX: Abilene Christian University defeated the Texas Wesleyan University women’s basketball team 80-56 in an exhibition contest on Saturday.
In the first half, the Wildcats scored seven unanswered points to take a 19-11 lead. The Rams kept pace after that, but could not overcome 48% shooting form the Wildcats.
In the second half, ACU got even hotter, shooting 58% in the field and pulled away for the 80-56 win.
The Rams were able to force 21 turnovers. However, ACU held a 44-39 advantage in rebounds while holding Texas Wesleyan to 28% shooting from the field.
Britannia Champion led the Lady Rams with 12 points and eight rebounds. Pilar Pinkus finished with 13 points in 18 minutes off the bench.
Kristee Davidson’s 20 points led four Wildcats who reached double-figures in scoring. The Lady Rams return to action on Saturday, November 18, when they travel to New Orleans, LA, to take on Loyola University. That game is scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 p.m. |
