FORT WORTH, TX: The NAIA’s All-Region VI Volleyball teams have been announced, and two Lady Rams were among those honored. Sandra Ayala and Liz Meng were both named 1st-team All-Region after leading the Lady Rams to a 20-10 record this season.
Ayala, a junior from Cedar Hill, TX, was a two-time Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Player of the Week this season and also earned Region VI Player of the Week honors. She earned 1st-team All-RRAC honors, as she led the team and the conference with 396 kills, and her 4.0 kills per game ranked 23rd nationally.
Meng, a sophomore from Weatherford, TX, also earned an RRAC Player of the Week award this season, and was named 1st-team All-RRAC. In addition, her .372 hitting percentage ranked 11th in the nation. She also ranked in the nation’s top-35 in blocks per game (1.0) and kills per game (3.7).
Texas Wesleyan finished with an overall record of 20-10. They reached the semifinals of the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament and held a record of 14-8 against Region VI competition. |
