FORT WORTH, TX: The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its selections for the 2006 NAIA Volleyball All-American teams. Texas Wesleyan’s Liz Meng became the 19th player in program history to receive the honor.
Meng, a junior from Weatherford, TX, was named Honorable Mention All-American after receiving 1st-team All-Red River Athletic Conference and 1st-team All-Region VI honors this season.
Earlier this season Meng earned an RRAC Player of the Week award. She ranked 11th in the nation with a .372 hitting percentage. In addition, she ranked in the nation’s top-40 in kills per game (3.73) and blocks per game (1.00).
Meng led the Lady Rams to 20-10 record and an appearance in the Red River Athletic conference semifinals. She led the team in hitting percentage (.372) and blocks (93) while ranking second with 347 kills.
