FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan Univeristy’s Brandon Frazier and Joey Evans have been selected as the Red River Athletic Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week for the period of February 11-17.
Frazier, a senior centerfielder from Burleson, TX, drove in three runs and crossed home plate four times in a 2-1 week for the Rams. He went 4-for-9 at the plate including a 2-for-3 performance with two runs scored in a 4-0 win over Jarvis Christian College (TX). Frazier had a double, a triple and three stolen bases as TWU moved to 4-4 on the season.
Evans, a junior from Tyler, TX, picked up his first win of the season with the 4-0 victory over JCC. He allowed only two hits in five scoreless innings of work while striking out six Bulldog hitters. Evans retired the first 11 batters he faced.
The Rams are back in action on Tuesday when they host LeTourneau University at LaGrave Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. |
