DALLAS, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s basketball team (16-9, 8-5 RRAC) suffered an 81-62 loss at the hands of Paul Quinn College (6-17, 3-9) on Monday.
Paul Quinn controlled the first half by hitting five three-pointers. The Tigers led by as many as 14, 32-18, but the Rams cut the margin to single digits heading to the locker room when a free throw from Andria Mitchell brought the score to 34-25.
Midway through the second half, the Rams scored six unanswered points to cut the deficit to six at 50-44. However, the Tigers used a 7-2 run to regain control.
The Tigers went on to lead by as many as 20 on their way to the 81-62 win.
Paul Quinn scored 20 points off of Texas Wesleyan turnovers and outscored the Lady Rams 24-0 from behind the arc.
Brittany Turner was the only Ram to reach double-figures in scoring with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Paul Quinn’s Hannah DeBose led all scorers with 20 points.
