FORT WORTH, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (1-10) lost a pair of games in the Cowtown Classic on Saturday. The Rams suffered a 15-3 defeat at the hands of the University of Houston-Victoria before falling 9-1 to Northwood University.
In game one, Houston-Victoria plated seven runs in the first inning and never looked back.
Taylor Wood fell to 0-2 with the loss. Elizabeth Brady went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Rams.
In game two, the Knights got a two-run homer from Alex Mesa in the first, an unearned run in the second, four runs on four hits in the third, and a two-run homer in the fourth.
The Rams got on the board in the fifth when Taylor Wood singled and scored on a Northwood error. However that was not enough to extend the game as the Knights prevailed 9-1.
Rayne Reynolds fell to 1-2 on the season with the loss.
The Lady Rams will return to the field on Thursday, when they travel to Hawkins, TX, to take on Jarvis Christian College. That doubleheader is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start. |
