DURANT, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University softball team (5-20) was swept in a doubleheader at Southeastern Oklahoma State University (29-4) on Tuesday. The Savage Storm prevailed with scores of 8-0 and 17-0.
In game one, the Storm got multi-hit games from the top four hitters in their order and cruised to the 8-0 win.
Marjorie Johnson (14-1) tossed her third no-hitter as she struck out 12 Rams in five innings. Ashley Oldham (2-8) took the loss after allowing eight runs, seven earned, on 12 hits in three innings pitched.
In game two, the Storm scored all of their runs in the second and third innings. SOSU plated seven in the second and ten in the third.
The top third of the order did most of the damage for the Storm, racking up eight hits and nine RBI.
Tara Martinez went 2-for-2 for the Lady Rams.
Jami McAdoo (13-2) allowed two hits in three innings of work. Taylor Wood (0-5) took the loss for the Lady Rams.
Texas Wesleyan will return to action on Sunday, when they travel to Muskogee, OK, for a Red River Athletic Conference doubleheader with Bacone College. Game one is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start. |
