LADY RAMS SIGN ROMIG
March 27, 2007

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University head volleyball coach Christy Clawson announced today the signing of Katlynn Romig, a libero out of Temple Christian School in Fort Worth.

Romig was 1st-team All-District selection for coach Kyla Kille’s Temple Eagles.  She was also named District Defensive Player of the Year and 2nd-team All-State in her senior season.

Romig will help fill the spot vacated by Ashley Mock who set school records for digs in a match (51) and digs in a season (1,007) last season.  “We have very high expectations for her next season,” Clawson commented.  “Katie has fantastic ball control and is very competitive.  She will be a great addition to our program.”

Romig is the daughter of Paul and Robyn Romig.

The Rams had an excellent 2007 season in their second year under Clawson’s guidance.  Texas Wesleyan posted a 32-16 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in RRAC play.  They reached the RRAC final for the fifth time in six years and also advanced to the Region VI championship game.
