FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University head women’s basketball coach Stacy Francis announced today the signing of a pair of 5-6 guards. Ashley Bringol will join the Rams from Kennedale High School while Bre-Untay Reed is coming out of Fort Worth’s North Crowley High School.
Bringol was a 1,000 point scorer for coach Vance Hughe’s Lady Wildcats at Kennedale High School. She received 1st-team All-District honors in all four seasons while ranking fifth in the area in three-point percentage as a junior and senior.
Bringol is the daughter of Melissa and Patrick Cook and intends to major in business management.
Reed was a 2nd-team All-District selection for coach Robin Williams at North Crowley High School. She is the daughter of LaSonja and Rickey Perkins and intends to major in business.
Francis was excited about both players, “I think they will both step in and make an impact as a freshman. Talent wise they will fit into our system very well. Our offense should give them both a chance to develop their skills.”
The Lady Rams went 21-10 this season, marking their highest win total since the 2004-05 season. |
