FORT WORTH, TX:  The Texas Wesleyan University baseball team (24-8, 7-0 RRAC) ran its current winning streak to 13-games with a 10-0 decision over College of the Southwest (4-27, 1-6) at LaGrave Field on Friday.

The Rams found themselves locked in a pitcher’s duel early on.  CSW’s Juan Steen kept the Rams off the board until a single from Brandon Frazier chased in Jerry Fisher in the fifth inning.

The Rams made it 3-0 with an RBI double off the bat of Butch Ballez and an RBI single from Eric Alvarez in the sixth

Meanwhile, Jayson Rachuig (4-2) did not allow a run while striking out eight batters in 6.1 innings.

With one out in the top of the seventh the Mustangs loaded the bases against Rachuig, but Hayden Lackey came on in relief and slammed the door.

The Rams batted around and scored four runs on three hits and an error in the bottom of the seventh.  In the eighth, Texas Wesleyan took advantage of two CSW errors and ended the game with an RBI single from Antoine Cole that brought the score to 10-0.

Lackey finished the game to pick up his third save of the season.

Frazier went 3-for-5 at the plate for Texas Wesleyan.  Smith, Alvarez, and Blake Walker each recorded a pair of hits.

The two teams will complete their three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday.  Game one is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start at LaGrave Field.
