LADY RAMS SIGN TWO FROM HUTTO

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University head volleyball coach Christy Clawson announced today the signing of two student-athletes from Hutto High School.

Chelsy Covington, a 5’7” outside hitter, and Kelsey Knapp, a 6’0” middle blocker, both played for coach Janiec Nelson at Hutto High School in Hutto, TX.  The combination led HHS to district, area, and regional championships in each of the last two seasons.

Knapp was a 2nd-team All-District selection.  Covington, an all around athlete, also excelled at track in shich she was an Honorable Mention All-State selection

The Rams had an excellent 2007 season in their second year under Clawson’s guidance.  Texas Wesleyan posted a 32-16 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in RRAC play.  They reached the RRAC final for the fifth time in six years and also advanced to the Region VI championship game.
