FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Tana Park earned a share of the Red River Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week award for the period of April 14-20. Park shared the award with Bacone College’s Sasha Long.
Park, a sophomore rightfielder from Glen Rose, TX, spurred the Lady Rams to a 4-0 week with 10 runs scored and five RBI. She went 8-for-11 in a doubleheader sweep over Jarvis Christian College (TX), driving in five runs. Park also scored three runs in a doubleheader against College of the Southwest (NM). For the week, she was 10-of-19 batting (.526) with six stolen bases.
Long, a sophomore shortstop from Pryor, OK, was 11-for-18 at the plate in six games for the Lady Warriors last week as Bacone moved to 17-5 in the conference and 27-27 on the season.
Texas Wesleyan stands at 11-7 in the RRAC and 12-27 overall. The Lady Rams will host Texas College this afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. |
