FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s head men’s basketball coach Terry Waldrop announced today the signing of 6’8”, 240lb forward George Krajnovic.
Krajnovic, originally from Croatia, has excelled in two seasons at Texas junior colleges. He played his freshman season at Collin County Community College and his sophomore season at Clarendon Community College.
At Clarendon he ranked 23rd nationally with 6.1 rebounds per game and 49th nationally with 0.4 blocks per game.
“We are very pleased that Goerge has officially signed to attend Texas Wesleyan University,” Waldrop said. “He is going to fit in great with our team. Adding him to Dane Dmitrovic, Hector Mukweyi, and Andy Laitinen gives us one of the best front courts in the nation. George brings a skilled, physical presence that is simple two cuts above and that is going to make him a very special player for us.”
Waldrop went on to say that Krajnovic was recruited by numerous mid to high level NCAA Division I institutions, but chose Texas Wesleyan. “We are elated by his decision to attend our University. I think the fact that our players are graduating, our success with international players, and our success on a national stage really appealed to him. The combination of all of those qualities is rare at any level. Coach Shinlgeton did an excellent job in recruiting him and we can’t wait to get started.”
The 2007-08 Rams posted a 20-12 overall record. At 12-4 in conference play they won the Red River Athletic Conference regular season title and earned a bid to the NAIA National tournament with a final national ranking of 18th. |
