LADY RAMS SIGN HINOJOS

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University head volleyball coach Christy Clawson announced today the signing of Lauren Hinojos, a defensive specialist out of Midland College.

A dean’s list student at Midland College, Hinojos won the Lady Chap Award as a sophomore.  In two seasons with the Chaparrals, she posted 457 digs and 33 service aces in 212 games played.

Hinojos played for coach Terri McColloch at Midland High School (Midland, TX) where she won the Fighting Bulldog Award as a junior and was named Academic All-State while leading MHS to a district championship in her senior season.

Clawson was pleased to add Hinojos, who will be a junior next fall, to her roster.  “Lauren will bring some needed experience to our young team,” Clawson commented.  “She is an all around solid player who can fill many roles.

The Rams had an excellent 2007 season in their second year under Clawson’s guidance.  Texas Wesleyan posted a 32-16 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in RRAC play.  They reached the RRAC final for the fifth time in six years and also advanced to the Region VI championship game.
