BRADY, RALEY NAMED ALL-REGION VI
May 13, 2008

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan’s Elizabeth Brady and Ariel Raley have been named to the NAIA’s All-Region VI team.  Brady received 1st-team honors, while Raley was a 2nd-team selection.

Brady, a senior Utility player out of Fort Worth, TX, led the Lady Rams with 52 hits and a .432 batting average.  In three Red River Athletic Conference Tournament games, she went 7-for-11 (.636) at the plate.  She tied the school record for doubles in a game twice this season, ripping three two-baggers against both Jarvis Christian and Langston.  Brady played every position in the infield this season and also spent time at designated player.  At catcher, she gunned down five of sixteen (.313) would-be base stealers.

Raley was named All-Region VI for the third time in her career.  Despite missing time due to student-teaching obligations, the senior third baseman hit .351 with 23 RBI and a team-high four home runs.  In the RRAC tournament, Raley led the team by hitting .667 (6-for-9).  Raley finished her four-year career with numbers that stack up favorable against the best hitters in school history.  She hit .364 in her career with 29 doubles, 20 home runs, 131 RBI (2nd all-time), 231 hits, and 137 runs scored in 195 games played.

The Lady Rams finished the season at 19-31 overall.  At 17-7 in conference play they were the third seed in the RRAC tournament.
