FULLER SIGNS WITH LADY RAMS
May 20, 2008

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University head volleyball coach Christy Clawson and head softball coach Shannon Gower have announced the signing of Rio Vista High School (Rio Vista, TX) standout Tabatha Fuller.

Fuller was a four-sport athlete at RVHS.  In volleyball, she was a two-time All-District selection.  In her junior year she was named Academic All-State.  In her senior season, she earned district and county Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Entering her senior year in softball, she had earned two All-District awards, and was named district Defensive Player of the Year as a junior.

Fuller was also a three-time All-District selection and county Offensive Player of the Year in basketball and was a regional qualifier in the pole vault in 2006 and 2008.

Clawson commented that Fuller’s athleticism will allow her to contribute in several facets of the game.  “She will be able to contribute in several roles for us as a defensive player, outside hitter and rite side, or a setter.”

“Tabatha has a strong arm and quick feet behind the plate,” Gower said.  “She is a good student that will help us on and off the field.”

The Lady Rams volleyball team had an excellent 2007 season in their second year under Clawson’s guidance.  Texas Wesleyan posted a 32-16 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in RRAC play.  They reached the RRAC final for the fifth time in six years and also advanced to the Region VI championship game.

The 2008 Lady Rams softball team finished the season at 19-31 overall.  At 17-7 in conference play they were the third seed in the RRAC tournament.
