LADY RAMS DROP TWO IN SOUTH PADRE |

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX: The Texas Wesleyan University Women's Volleyball Team lost both games they played today at the UT-Brownsville Padre Tournament. The Lady Rams fell to a 1-3 record on the season, losing to UT-Brownsville 3-0 (30-25, 36-34, 30-17. The Lady Rams lost their second match in four games losing Savannah College of Art and Design 3-1 (30-20, 17-30, 19-30, 14-30).
In the match with UT-Brownsville, Senior Outside Hitter Sandra Ayala posted 18 kills, and Senior Middle Blocker Erinn Miller had 13 kills. Freshman Setter Evoni Darling tallied 16 digs and 35 assists on her way to a double-double.
In the match with Savannah, Sandra Ayala notched a double-double with 13 kills and 18 digs. Erinn Miller took down 23 kills, recording a new career high for kills in a single match. Her previous high was 17, against College of the Southwest last season. Also for the Lady Rams, Senior Libero Ashley Mock had 3 aces and 27 digs, and Evoni Darling tallied 21 digs and 38 assists. The Lady Rams' next match will be on Thursday, August 30, against Concordia University at Irvine in Irvine, CA. The Lady Rams' home opener will be on Friday, September 7, against rival Houston Baptist University. |
