FORT WORTH, TX: Texas Wesleyan University’s Holly Rowland has been named Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the first reporting period of the season.
In two games played this season Rowland, a senior goalkeeper from Tulsa, OK, has a goal against average of .091 while posting 17 saves against 19 shots on goal. Against East Central University she made eight stops while allowing just one goal in a full 110 minutes in the net to earn a 1-1 draw.
The Lady Rams are off to a 0-2-1 start on the year. They are currently ranked fifth in the NAIA’s Region VI. Their lone game against a Region VI opponent was a 2-0 loss to second ranked Oklahoma City University.
The Lady Rams return to action on Wednesday, September 5, when they travel to Denton, TX, to take on Texas Woman’s University. That contest is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.
