DENTON, TX: In their first road game of the season, the Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (0-3-1) suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Texas Woman’s University (2-3-0) on Wednesday.
The Pioneers got on the board in the 18th minute when Rebekah Ledet’s shot from the left corner found the net.
In the second half Raven Morales scored in the 58th and 78th minutes to account for the 3-0 final score.
Brittany O’Brien recorded 14 saves in the loss. Texas Woman’s ripped off 29 shots including 17 shots on goal. Texas Wesleyan took eleven shots and was unable to get the ball past the Pioneers’ Aly Vincent who needed eight saves to notch the shutout victory. The Lady Rams return to action on Friday, when they host Mid-America Christian University. That game will be followed by a men’s game. |
