CHICKASHA, OK: The Texas Wesleyan University women’s soccer team (3-4-2) battled the University of Science & Arts (3-2-1) to a scoreless draw after two overtimes on Tuesday.
The game marked the second consecutive shutout for the Texas Wesleyan defense. Brittany O’Brien worked all 110 minutes in the net and racked up 11 saves in her first shutout of the year.
The Rams saw plenty of scoring opportunities as they ripped off 21 shots and forced USAO goalkeeper Destiny Rachal to make nine saves.
“We had a ton of chances,” commented head coach Josh Gibbs, “but we obviously did a poor job of finishing.”
The Rams now look ahead to Friday’s conference opener. They will host Texas College at 4:00 p.m. at Martin Field.
