Richeson, a sophomore midfielder from Yorba Linda, CA, delivered a game-winning goal for Texas Wesleyan, scoring in the 68th minute for a 2-1 win over conference foe, Texas College. The victory helped the Rams to a 1-1-1 record on the week. They are 5-3-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. The University of Texas-Brownsville’s Fernando Mendoza shared the award with Richeson while UTB’s Juan Gamboa took the defensive award for a four-save shutout performance against College of the Southwest. The Rams will host UTB in a meeting of the top two teams in the conference standings on Saturday. That game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and will be preceded by a women’s game. |
