REEVES, O'BRIEN NAMED RRAC P.O.W.
October 2, 2007

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Candice Reeves and Brittany O’Brien have been named Red River Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the week for the period of September 24-30.

Reeves, a freshman forward from Mansfield, TX, provided the difference in the Lady Rams’ 2-1 win over the University of Texas-Brownsville.  She netted the first goal and assisted on the game-winner as Texas Wesleyan established a 2-0 conference mark and a 5-4-2 record overall. Reeves has accounted for nine points (three goals and three assists) in her last two games.

O’Brien, a junior goalkeeper from Colleyville, TX, stopped 9-of-10 shots on goal in the win over UTB. She is recognized by the conference for the second consecutive week.  In her last four games, she has allowed just two goals while making 26 saves.

Reeves shared the offensive award with Huston-Tillotson University’s Evelyn Guzman scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

The Lady Rams return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Houston, TX, to take on NCAA Division I Houston Baptist University.  That game is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. and will be followed by a men’s game.
