FORT WORTH, TX: The third Golf World/Nike Golf NAIA Coaches’ Poll of the fall season has been released, and Texas Wesleyan University has risen from 13th to 9th.
Defending National Champion Oklahoma City remains the top team, earning four of the five first place votes. Rounding out the top-five are Oklahoma Christian (No. 2), British Columbia (No. 3), Wayland Baptist (No. 4) and Berry (No. 5).
Texas Wesleyan jumped into the top-ten after a tremendous start to the season. The Rams won their first two tournaments, while senior Mitch Hendon took individual titles at the Charles Coody Intercollegiate and The Territory Classic. Texas Wesleyan followed that with a 10th place finish at the Grand Canyon Invitational.
The Rams return to action October 22-23, at the Rattler Invitational. That event will be hosted by St. Mary’s University at Pecan Valley Golf Club in San Antonio, TX.
