FORT WORTH, TX: The Red River Athletic Conference has released its women’s basketball preseason coaches’ poll. Texas Wesleyan was picked fifth in what appears to be a wide open conference.
Just 26 points separate the top-five teams while each of those teams received at least one first place vote. Langston University (OK) took the top spot with 77 points and five of the nine first place votes.
The Lady Rams, who finished 9-9 in conference play last season (12-18 overall), were picked fifth with 51 points and one first place votes.
Texas Wesleyan will open the 2007-08 season on November 2, when they host Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in the Sid Richardson Center at 6:00 p.m.
