October 24, 2007

FORT WORTH, TX:  The Red River Athletic Conference has released its women’s soccer All-Conference selections.  Six Lady Rams were among those honored while head coach Josh Gibbs was named Coach of the Year in his second season.

Gibbs has had a tremendous start to his coaching career.  He led the team to a conference title in 2006 and has now been named Coach of the Year in 2007.

Allie Heafner was named Defensive Player of the Year while garnering 2nd-team All-RRAC honors.

Loren Clark and Brittany O’Brien were both named to the 1st-team.  Clark ranks second in the conference with 10 goals and fourth with 24 points.  O’Brien ranked second in the conference with a 1.30 goals against average and 82 saves while posting three shutouts.

Heafner was joined on the 2nd-team by teammates Aubrey Rice, Kly Randell, and Crhistina Zimmerman.

The Rams are hosting the RRAC Tournament, which begins on Thursday, October 25.  As the second seed, Texas Wesleyan has a bye through the first round and will take on the highest remaining seed at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
