Saturday’s game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start in Brownsville, TX. In two meetings this season the Scorpions took a combined edge of one goal to none in 200 minutes of game-time. The two teams met last Saturday at Texas Wesleyan’s Martin Field. The Scorpions escaped with a 3-1 win in a shootout after a scoreless draw through 110 minutes of play.
UT-Brownsville also won the regular season match between the two teams taking a 1-0 edge in Fort Worth on September 29. If the Rams win on Saturday they would then travel to Bethany Oklahoma to take on top-seeded Southern Nazarene on Monday, November 5. The Crimson Storm won the Sooner Athletic Conference title and is currently ranked third in the nation. |
FORT WORTH, TX: The first round of the NAIA Region VI Men’s Soccer Tournament will feature a rematch of the Red River Athletic Conference Championship game. Sixth seeded Texas Wesleyan University (9-8-2) will take on third seeded UT-Brownsville 13-4-1 Saturday night.
