TURNER NAMED RRAC P.O.W.

FORT WORTH, TX:  Texas Wesleyan University’s Brittany Turner has earned recognition as Red River Athletic Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week for the period of November 12-18.

Turner, a junior center from Dallas, TX, averaged better than a double-double as the Lady Rams won both of their games in the inaugural “Geese” Ausbie Thanksgiving Tournament.  In the opener, she scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Texas Wesleyan dropped Williams Baptist College (AR), 58-51.  Turner then accounted for 14 points and nine boards to defeat the host team, Philander Smith College (AR), 75-68.  She was 9-of-17 from the field in the two games and was named the team’s most valuable player in the tournament.
